Is the fun beach game about to become Toy of the Year 2016?

Is the fun beach game about to become Toy of the Year 2016?

Big smiles at Gollnest & Kiesel, Germany's most northerly toy manufacturer. Once again two spectacular articles from the range of the wooden toy experts have been nominated for the leading German toy award "The Golden Rocking Horse".

Nominated in the category "For the whole family": playing chess like the Vikings: Nature Kubb

This popular outdoor game requires a lot of skill. As in the real game of chess, the goal here is to bring down the opposing king. To achieve this, a player has to knock over all the opponent's kubbs (or blocks) with his own throwing baton.

Many families play goki kubb games, especially in the warmer months, on beaches and lakeshores, in gardens and parks. Kubb is a communicative game for two teams.

Since this spring the Viking game has also been available in what is probably its most beautiful design – from the goki nature line, naturally. Its elegant appearance is created by a special thermal treatment, without chemical additives. Lifetime enjoyment is guaranteed.

 King: 4.5 x 4.5 x 25 cm.

Nominated in the category "For artists and architects": the X-Man game

48 X-Men offer far more playing options than the stacking and skill possibilities would suggest. With creativity and imagination the 5 centimetre high X-Men provide endless playing pleasure. Guaranteed!

Due to their dimensional accuracy and their weight, the X-Men remain stable even in the most daring positions. Naturally, all the laws of physics must be observed at the same time. This makes learning exciting. The imagination knows no bounds. Tactical games such as Tic Tac Toe can also be played using the stone men.

Gollnest & Kiesel
Gollnest & Kiesel is Europe's innovative manufacturer of wooden toys and the largest toy company in northern Germany. Its brands HEIMESS (baby toys made of wood and high-quality plastic, made in Germany), goki, HOLZTIGER  and ANKER Stone Building Sets are well known in the toy and gift trade. The company was founded 35 years ago by its two managing directors. The HEIMESS brand has existed for 60 years, and ANKER Steinbaukasten GmbH in Rudolstadt can trace its history back over 130 years. More than 2,000 different products form one of the most widely varied ranges anywhere in the toy industry.
"We produce toys for children's hands, heads and souls," says Gerhard Gollnest. Over 600 Gollnest & Kiesel employees worldwide are busy transforming a thousand new ideas into a thousand living colours.
Gollnest & Kiesel places a very special emphasis on forestation. "Whoever takes something from nature must give something back to it," says Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesel. Every year, Gollnest & Kiesel donates a new forest to Germany's least wooded state, Schleswig-Holstein. A tree is planted for every newborn child in the northernmost federal state. In this way, 300,000 new beech, maple and oak trees have been planted over the past ten years.
