ANKER: The toy legend lives on in Rudolstadt

ANKER: The toy legend lives on in Rudolstadt

Anker Stones are the oldest modular toy system in the world. For over 130 years, Anker Stones have been manufactured by hand using traditional methods. 100 percent natural materials – chalk, quartz sand, natural pigments and linseed oil – satisfy the highest ecological criteria.

From now on, Anker Stones will be manufactured by Ankerstein GmbH, part of the workers' welfare association AWO Rudolstadt. Previous owners Gerhard Gollnest and Fritz-Rüdiger Kiesel (who also manufacture the wooden toy brands goki, Heimess and Holztiger) have transferred ownership of the Anker Stone business, but will continue to collaborate with the new Anker Stone factory. They consider Anker Stones to be one of the most sustainable and practical toys in the world.

High-quality, educational Anker Stone kits are treasure chests for architects both young and old. Castles, palaces, towers, bridges... creativity and imagination know no bounds. Anker Stones are long-lasting companions that become even more beautiful as time passes and their patina develops.

Anker Stones have many faithful friends all over the world. The most famous include Albert Einstein, Erich Kästner, Jurek Becker, Walter Gropius, Roman Herzog and Bill Clinton, who, in a written message, described Anker Stones as "just wonderful".

Children immediately grasp the unique Anker Stones as a valuable material and as something wonderful to play with. Many start to make constructional buildings immediately.
